- Hi!
-
- I'm having problems with the internal floppy drive of my
- A1200. It's light is always on, and it can't be used.
- Sometimes my Workbench displays four floppy-drives, although
- I have only one external one. Ie. DF0, DF1, DF2 and DF3...
-
- My external drive works fine most of the time, but sometimes it
- hangs after floppy change. I think this is caused by the internal drive
- getting the controller out of order.
-
- Also my boot-up-time has increased with perhaps upto half a minute because
- of this, I think it's the controller who tries to connect to the floppy,
- but can't since the floppy is bad. I't hangs for a while where normally it's
- reading the floppy to check if it's a bootdisk.
-
- My question:
- Since I need to use my Amiga, and can't send it off to be repaired, is
- it possible to disconnect this drive from the restt of the system?
-
- Can I just disconnect a lead, or is it more complicated?
-
- Since I'm no HW hacker, could it be that it's the controller that's bad?
-
-
- All help mostly appriciated!
